Engagement
Social media engagement is a stand-alone metric (it does not necessarily translate into sales) that is used to measure the public shares, comments and likes for an online business’ social media efforts. It is the most commonly used metric for evaluating social media performance.
Examples of different types of engagement:
- Publish photos on Instagram
- Start a Facebook page with the intent to evoke conversation with and amongst you customers
- Publish a video on Youtube, either educational, promotional or for advertising purposes
All these actions drive engagement no matter how big or small. To increase engagement a business should focus on consistent publishing as well as constant interaction with its’ customers. Another way to increase engagement is to cross-publish content, e.g have a top-ranked blogger post the content on its’ platform.
